Bus rental in Fujairah and along the east coast

Bus rental in Fujairah is usually one of two jobs. Either a group needs to get over the Hajar Mountains to the east coast, or it is already there and needs moving around: from a resort at Al Aqah to a wedding venue, from accommodation in Kalba to the port, from a school in Khor Fakkan to a museum in Sharjah. We do both, with vans, minibuses and coaches, and every booking comes with an experienced driver and a written quote that includes fuel and road tolls.

One thing to be clear about. We are a Dubai company, based on Al Muraqqabat Street in Deira, and we have no office on the east coast. Our vehicles drive out for each job. We collect anywhere between Kalba in the south and Dibba in the north, and every seat has a seat belt.

Prices depend on the date and group size. Get yours in a minute.

One coastline, more than one emirate

By road the east coast works as one place. On paper it doesn’t. Fujairah is the only emirate with its whole coastline on the Gulf of Oman, yet Khor Fakkan and Kalba belong to Sharjah, and Dibba is split three ways: Dibba Al Fujairah, Dibba Al Hisn (Sharjah) and Dibba Al Baya, which is in Oman.

For most group trips none of this matters; Kalba to Dibba is around an hour and a quarter on the coast road. The border is the exception. If your plan includes the Omani side of Dibba, or a boat trip into Musandam waters, tell us when you ask for a quote, because border formalities apply to the vehicle and to every passenger on it.

Crossing the Hajar Mountains

Every trip from Dubai, Sharjah or Ajman crosses the Hajar range somewhere, and the crossing depends on where you are heading. For Fujairah city and Kalba, the driver takes either the inland road through Al Dhaid and Masafi or the Sheikh Khalifa Highway, which tunnels through the mountains and comes out near Fujairah city. Khor Fakkan has its own road from Sharjah, with a chain of tunnels and the Al Suhub rest area high above the bay. For Al Aqah and Dibba, it is Masafi and then north, or the coast road up from Fujairah.

Coaches use all of these roads. The long climbs and descents are what the driver plans for: a low gear, a steady pace and a comfort stop at Masafi or one of the rest areas. With fifty people on board, a smooth descent matters more than a quick one.

Those are outside the rush hour. A winter weekend can add a lot each way, so we time the pick-up for your actual day.

Choosing a vehicle for the east coast

Four hours of mountain road in one day is a long time in a hard seat. A resort stay also means suitcases, not day bags. Those two things decide the vehicle more than the headcount does.

GroupVehicleWhy it suits the coast
Up to 7Mercedes V-ClassSliding doors and room for six suitcases
Up to 13Toyota HiAceEconomical for crews and short runs along the coast
14 to 16Mercedes SprinterReclining seats and standing headroom for the crossing
17 to 30Mini coachShort enough for hotel driveways and village streets
31 to 5035-seater or 50-seat coachUnder-floor holds for a wedding party’s luggage

For a group of fifteen doing the full crossing and back in a day, we’d choose the Sprinter over the HiAce every time, even though it costs more. By the second hour, the reclining seats earn their keep. Small stops like the old mosque at Al Bidyah can be tight for a full coach, so list yours and we’ll check.

What east-coast trips cost

Our Dubai to Fujairah transfer starts from AED 550 one way in a 14-seater van, and the typical market range for the same journey is AED 600 to 850. Our day prices start from AED 450 per day for a 13-seater van and AED 650 per day for a 50-seat coach. Be careful with those, though: they are for a full day of up to 10 hours within Dubai. An east-coast job is quoted for its actual route, so plan with the written quote.

The route itself moves the price most. A trip that starts in Dubai and ends in Dibba is priced for the whole distance and the hours, not the pick-up point. One way, return and a day with the driver waiting are priced differently, too. Then hours and nights. Staying on for sunset takes a day past ten hours, and a vehicle kept with a group over a weekend is quoted day by day, with the overnight arrangements set out in the quote.

Example: a family moving to the coast

Nine relatives move from a Dubai hotel to a Fujairah beach hotel for the second week of a holiday. That is one 14-seater van, from AED 550 one way, and the trip back at the end of the stay is quoted separately. Market ranges on this page are what mainstream operators published when we checked on 14 October 2026; the price guide has every vehicle and route.

Port, free zone and industry: staff and crew transport

There is plenty of work on this coast. Fujairah is one of the world’s largest ship-refuelling hubs, with oil storage terminals around the port, a free zone next door and quarries inland. Khor Fakkan, half an hour up the coast, has its own container port.

Staff transport there runs the way it does anywhere else we work. We map where people live, group them into pick-up points, size the vehicle to the busiest shift and quote one monthly price per route, with a regular driver where possible and a replacement vehicle if one is in for service. Access is the part that differs. Port and terminal areas have gate procedures, passes and set waiting points, so we need the gate, any pass requirements and a site contact before the first morning.

A daily commute from Sharjah adds about two hours each way to a shift, and we’ll tell you when a rotation with a transfer at each end makes more sense. Monthly contracts start at one month. See staff transport and how our contracts work.

Resorts, weddings and retreats

The beach resorts between Al Aqah and Dibba, and the hotels on the Fujairah corniche, take a lot of destination weddings and company retreats. Most guests come from Dubai or Sharjah. The usual shape is a transfer in, two or three nights, and a transfer out, so we quote it that way: the arrival from DXB, Sharjah International or a Dubai hotel, any days out, and the departure timed to each flight.

For a busy retreat, keep one vehicle and driver with the group on multi-day hire; by day two the driver knows the resort and the venue. Wedding shuttles run between the resorts and the venue on the evening’s timetable (see wedding bus rental). SHJ is the nearest of the big airports to Fujairah city; Sharjah Airport transfers explains arrivals there. Flying into Fujairah’s own, smaller airport? Send the flight and we’ll quote it.

Day trips that start on the east coast

Plenty of groups go the other way. Schools, associations and companies on the coast book full-day hire for a day in Sharjah, Dubai or Abu Dhabi, with the driver waiting at each stop.

  • Sharjah’s museums on the Corniche and in the old heritage quarter
  • Dubai’s museums and malls, and an evening at Global Village
  • Abu Dhabi and the Grand Mosque, around three hours each way from Fujairah, so a very long day
  • Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah, best from the Dibba end of the coast

School trips: send pupil and adult numbers separately.

A few stops worth adding

Beyond the classic east-coast day trip, try one of these:

  • Khor Kalba, where kayaks go out among some of the oldest mangroves on the coast
  • Fujairah Museum next to the fort, and the gardens and springs at Ain Al Madhab
  • Bithnah Fort on the old mountain road, or Al Hayl Fort in a wadi inland (the last stretch is narrow, so we check it for the vehicle)
  • Dibba harbour, where dhow trips along the Musandam coast leave; book those directly with the boat operator

Opening hours shift around prayer times and in Ramadan. Check them before the day.

Heat, humidity and winter rain

Summer on this coast is hot and more humid than Dubai. Winter brings a different risk. Heavy rain in the mountains fills the wadis fast and can close valley roads for a while, so if official weather warnings make a trip unsafe we delay or re-route it and talk you through the options. Our drivers keep to the main roads, not wadi tracks.

Booking east-coast transport

Send the headcount, every pick-up and drop-off (hotel, building or gate, and which emirate it is in), the date, the timings and your stops. The booking form works, as does email to info@emiratesbushire.com or WhatsApp on +971 54 126 1681. If the group is staying on the coast, add the nights and the plan for each day. A written quote usually follows within the hour, and nothing is charged until you confirm.

For long weekends and holidays between October and April, allow two to four weeks, more for a wedding. Starting in Sharjah? The drive is shorter (see bus rental in Sharjah). A visiting manager on their own may only need a car with a driver.

Frequently asked.

Quick answers for this trip.

How much does it cost to rent a bus in Fujairah?

East-coast trips are quoted for the actual route and hours. As a guide, our Dubai to Fujairah transfer starts from AED 550 one way in a 14-seater van. Day prices start from AED 450 per day for a 13-seater van, but that is for a full day within Dubai.

Do you have an office in Fujairah?

No. Our office is on Al Muraqqabat Street in Deira, Dubai. The vehicles drive out to the east coast for each booking, and we collect anywhere from Kalba to Dibba.

Which emirate are Khor Fakkan and Kalba in?

Sharjah, though they sit either side of Fujairah. Dibba is shared between Fujairah, Sharjah and Oman.

How much is a bus from Dubai to Fujairah?

Public intercity buses run between Dubai and Fujairah, with fares and timetables set by the transport authority, so check the current details before you go. For a group, our Dubai to Fujairah transfer starts from AED 550 one way for a whole 14-seater van with its driver.

Can a 50-seat coach drive the mountain roads to the east coast?

Yes. Coaches use the main roads and tunnels through the Hajar Mountains. The trouble spots are smaller stops like heritage sites, harbours and village lanes, so tell us where you plan to stop and we’ll confirm the vehicle.

Can you run daily staff transport in Fujairah or Khor Fakkan?

Yes, on a monthly contract with a fixed timetable, a regular driver where possible and a replacement vehicle when one is in for service. For port or terminal sites, send the gate and pass requirements with the route.

Can you keep a vehicle with our group for a weekend at Al Aqah or Dibba?

Yes. Multi-day hire keeps the same vehicle and driver with you from arrival to departure. Send the itinerary and we’ll quote it day by day.

What happens if heavy rain hits the east coast on the day?

Safety first. Wadis flood and valley roads can close after heavy rain, so if official warnings are in force we may delay or re-route. Where we can, we talk it through with you the day before.

East coast bound? We’ll cross the mountains.
