The east coast in a day

The east coast is the UAE’s other shoreline, on the Gulf of Oman, and it feels very different from Dubai: mountains running down to the sea, fishing harbours and quieter beaches. Dubai to Fujairah bus rental for a group works best as a full day, with the driver waiting at each stop while you explore Khor Fakkan, the Fujairah coast and the heritage sites further north.

Companies use it for relaxed team days, schools and universities for geography and history trips, and families for a change of scenery on a winter weekend.

Dubai to Fujairah: route and timings

From central Dubai the drive to Fujairah takes about two hours. The usual route leaves on the E611 Emirates Road and crosses the Hajar Mountains towards the coast; for Khor Fakkan, the newer mountain road with its tunnels and the Al Suhub rest area viewpoint is part of the experience. We choose the route on the day according to your stops and the traffic.

With around four hours of driving in total, ten-hour full-day hire is the right booking. If you want to stay for sunset on the coast, ask us to add hours to the quote.

  • Khor Fakkan: the corniche, the amphitheatre and the waterfall, and Al Rafisah Dam in the hills behind the town
  • Fujairah city: Fujairah Fort and the Sheikh Zayed Mosque
  • Al Bidyah Mosque, often described as the oldest mosque in the UAE
  • The beaches near Al Aqah and Dibba, with views of Snoopy Island
  • The Friday Market near Masafi on the way, for pottery, carpets and fruit

Pick three or four rather than all of them — the coast road between stops takes longer than it looks on the map, and a relaxed day beats a rushed one.

A sample east-coast day

  • 07:30 — pick-up in Dubai
  • 09:30 — Khor Fakkan: the waterfall and the corniche
  • 11:00 — Al Rafisah Dam or the amphitheatre
  • 12:30 — lunch by the sea in Khor Fakkan or Fujairah
  • 14:30 — Al Bidyah Mosque and the beach at Al Aqah
  • 16:30 — depart for Dubai

Adjust it to your group: families often spend longer on the beach, while school groups usually focus on the forts and the mosque and leave the beach for another day.

Beach days, boats and the sea

The east coast is known for clear water and reefs, which is why snorkelling trips around Snoopy Island are so popular. If your group is booking a boat or a snorkelling trip, book it directly with the operator and send us the times; we deliver the group to the meeting point and are waiting when you come back.

Keep valuables with you rather than on the bus, and bring a change of clothes and a towel for the drive home. On hot days, the driver keeps the vehicle cool and ready, so the group can shelter between swims rather than sitting on the sand.

Choosing the vehicle

Every vehicle is air-conditioned and every seat has a seat belt. Some heritage sites and beach car parks have limited room for full-size coaches; we confirm access for your stops when we quote.

Overnight stays and retreats

Groups staying at an east-coast resort for a retreat or a wedding often need a transfer out on day one and a return a few days later. We can quote the two transfers separately, or keep a vehicle with the group for activities during the stay. For a company retreat this is usually simpler than a fleet of cars: one timetable, one driver and nobody driving home tired after the final dinner.

Booking

Send the date, headcount, pick-up point and the stops you want through the booking form. The written quote includes the vehicle, driver, fuel and Salik tolls, with extra hours listed before you confirm. Weekends from October to April book up first, so allow two to four weeks for those dates. Groups starting in Sharjah or Ajman have a shorter drive — see Sharjah and Ajman bus rental.

Questions

Frequently asked.

How long does it take to drive from Dubai to Fujairah by bus?

About two hours from central Dubai to Fujairah city, and a similar time to Khor Fakkan. Allow longer on Friday afternoons and holiday weekends, when traffic towards the east coast builds. We set the pick-up time around your first stop.

Can we visit Khor Fakkan and Fujairah on the same day?

Yes. They are close together on the east coast, and many groups combine Khor Fakkan’s corniche and waterfall with Fujairah Fort or Al Bidyah Mosque. Choose three or four stops for a relaxed day; more than that usually needs extra hours.

Is there a dress code at Al Bidyah Mosque?

Visitors should dress modestly, with shoulders and knees covered, and women may be asked to cover their hair. Visiting rules and times can change, so check before you go and remind the group the day before the trip.

Can the bus drop us at a beach and come back later?

Yes. On full-day hire the driver waits nearby, so you can spend the afternoon on the beach and call the bus when you are ready. Agree a time and a meeting point so everyone is back on board together.

Do you provide transfers to east-coast resorts?

Yes. Groups heading to resorts near Al Aqah, Dibba or Fujairah can book a one-way transfer each way, with luggage space matched to the group. For retreats, we can also keep a vehicle with you for the length of the stay.

Which is closer to Dubai: Fujairah or Hatta?

Hatta is a little closer, at about an hour and a half from central Dubai, while Fujairah takes around two hours. Hatta suits an active mountain day; the east coast suits beaches, heritage sites and a slower pace. Compare the Hatta page.
