Your reference
Sharjah International (SHJ) is the home base of Air Arabia, with a busy schedule of low-cost and regional flights, and it is where many tour groups, sports teams, wedding guests and project crews first land in the UAE. A Sharjah airport transfer for a group is a different job from a taxi ride: twenty people, twenty suitcases and one timetable need one vehicle, a driver who is already waiting and someone keeping an eye on the flight.
Emirates Bus Hire runs group transfers to and from Sharjah International in vans, minibuses and coaches, with drivers who meet the group in arrivals. We drive to anywhere in the UAE: Sharjah, Dubai, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, the east coast, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Every seat has a seat belt, and coaches carry the luggage in deep under-floor holds.
Prices depend on the date and group size. Get yours in a minute.
Get my pricePassport control and baggage reclaim can be quick or slow at any airport, and large groups usually come through in waves. We plan for that, and any waiting charges are shown on your quote before you confirm.
A rough guide to road distances and drive times from Sharjah International, outside the rush hour. Morning and evening traffic between Sharjah and Dubai can add a lot to these, so we set each pick-up and drop-off time from the real timetable on the day.
| Destination | Road distance, about | Typical drive time |
|---|---|---|
| Sharjah city centre and Al Majaz | 15 km | 20–30 minutes |
| Ajman | 20 km | 20–30 minutes |
| Deira and Dubai International (DXB) | 25 km | 25–40 minutes |
| Downtown Dubai and Business Bay | 40 km | 35–50 minutes |
| Umm Al Quwain | 40 km | 30–45 minutes |
| Dubai Marina and JBR | 60 km | 50–70 minutes |
| Dubai World Central (DWC) | 75 km | 50–70 minutes |
| Ras Al Khaimah city | 85 km | 60–80 minutes |
| Fujairah city | 110 km | 75–90 minutes |
| Abu Dhabi city | 170 km | About 2 hours |
These are planning estimates, not promises. On the day, the driver chooses the route according to the traffic.
At an airport, luggage decides the vehicle as often as the headcount does. Our guide figures, in medium suitcases:
If the group has more large cases than the vehicle has room for, step up a size or add a separate luggage vehicle; we suggest it on the quote rather than at the kerb. Golf bags, sports kit, prams, wheelchairs and boxes of samples all count, so mention them. Travellers on low-cost fares sometimes carry only cabin bags, which can bring a group down a vehicle size.
For one to three people, an executive car does the job; for up to six with luggage, a 7-seater SUV.
A group arrival goes smoothly when the leader has a plan for the twenty minutes after baggage reclaim. Before you fly, share the driver’s name and number with one or two other adults in the group, agree a meeting point in the arrivals hall, and collect everyone’s mobile number in case someone is held up at passport control.
If the group is arriving for work, give us the company name: the driver can show it on the name board so new staff recognise the vehicle.
Companies bringing in staff for a project often use Sharjah International. We meet each batch in arrivals, take everyone straight to the accommodation or site with their luggage, and can schedule several pick-ups if workers arrive on different flights over a few days. Recurring arrivals can be quoted alongside a staff transport contract.
Sports teams and tour groups travel with more than suitcases. Kit bags, bikes and equipment cases need coach holds or a separate luggage van, so tell us exactly what is coming – see sports team transport. Wedding guests and families often include grandparents, young children and pushchairs; the V-Class and the Sprinter are the easiest to board, and folding wheelchairs travel in the luggage area.
Flights land and leave Sharjah at all hours, and a group arriving at 3 a.m. needs a driver who is awake and waiting as much as one arriving at noon. We schedule night pick-ups and early departures in the same way as any other transfer, with the flight tracked and the driver’s details sent ahead. For a pre-dawn departure, we set the hotel pick-up time with the check-in closing time in mind, not just the take-off time.
Many Sharjah airport transfers end in Dubai. The driver chooses between Al Ittihad Road and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311) according to the traffic and the destination, and Salik tolls are included in the quote. For hotels in Deira, Al Garhoud and Downtown, allow 30 to 50 minutes outside the peaks; for Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah and JBR, more like an hour.
If the group is staying in more than one hotel, tell us when you book. A single vehicle can drop at several hotels on one loop, or we can split the group so each hotel gets a direct run – often quicker for everyone after a long flight. Conference groups can go straight to a venue such as Expo City or the Dubai World Trade Centre, with the luggage staying in the holds until the hotel drop.
For groups staying in Sharjah itself, the transfer is short – usually 20 to 30 minutes to the hotels around Al Majaz, Al Khan and the Corniche, and less to University City and the Sharjah Airport free zone next door. Short transfers still need the same planning: one vehicle for the whole group, a driver waiting in arrivals and luggage space for everyone.
Hotels in central Sharjah often have tight driveways and busy streets outside, so give us the hotel names when you book and we confirm where a coach can stop. For a group split across two or three hotels, a single vehicle can drop at each in turn on a short loop. Exhibitors heading for Expo Centre Sharjah in Al Taawun can go straight to the venue with their samples and on to the hotel afterwards.
Sharjah International is the closest major airport to Ajman and Umm Al Quwain, and a common arrival point for resort guests, wedding parties and project crews heading north. Ajman is around 20 to 30 minutes away, Umm Al Quwain a little more, and Ras Al Khaimah usually a little over an hour. We collect at arrivals and drive straight north; on longer runs, a comfort stop is easy to arrange.
See bus rental in Ajman and bus rental in Ras Al Khaimah for what groups do once they arrive, and bus rental in Sharjah for groups staying in the city.
Longer transfers suit a coach or minibus with reclining seats. Abu Dhabi city is about two hours from Sharjah Airport by road, with Darb tolls included in the quote, and Al Ain, inland, is a little closer. The east coast – Fujairah, Khor Fakkan and the resorts near Al Aqah and Dibba – is reached across the Hajar Mountains in about an hour and a half to two hours.
For transfers of this length we suggest a comfort stop on the way, and that passengers keep water to hand, especially after an overnight flight. If the group is staying several days, we can keep a vehicle with them for excursions – see Abu Dhabi day trips and Fujairah and Khor Fakkan.
Groups sometimes arrive at one airport and leave from the other – a low-cost flight into Sharjah and a long-haul departure from DXB, for example. The road transfer usually takes 25 to 40 minutes, but a self-transfer between airports also means collecting bags, leaving one terminal and checking in at the other, so leave a generous margin and check your airline’s check-in closing times. If the connection means passing through immigration, check the entry requirements with your airline first.
We can collect at SHJ arrivals and deliver the group to DXB departures in one booking, or keep the vehicle for a day of sightseeing between the two flights on full-day hire.
Going home is the half of the trip people forget to plan. We collect from hotels, homes, offices or camps anywhere in the UAE and time the pick-up from the departure time, the distance and the traffic, with a buffer for the morning or evening peak. For large groups with several pick-up points, we plan the order so the first passengers aren’t on board for longer than necessary. Check-in desks close well before departure, and your airline publishes the exact time.
On the last day, many groups check out around midday but fly in the evening. Book a half or full day of hire and the luggage can stay in the holds while the driver waits and the group fits in a final visit – a souk, a museum or a long lunch – before heading to the airport. Keep passports and valuables with you rather than on board.
For one or two travellers with light bags, the taxi rank outside arrivals is usually the quickest way out of Sharjah International. For context, private sedan transfers between Dubai and Sharjah Airport typically cost AED 120–220 one way (typical market range, checked 14 October 2026). Some hotels arrange airport pick-ups for their guests, sometimes free of charge, so it is worth asking yours if you are booking a block of rooms.
For a group, a fleet of taxis means a queue, several cars arriving at different times and luggage that doesn’t fit. A private van or coach is quoted per vehicle, not per person, so the cost is shared across the group and everyone arrives together. Our quote covers the vehicle, the driver, fuel and road tolls, with waiting charges and parking, if any, listed before you confirm.
Send the flight number, the date and landing time, the headcount, the number of large bags and the drop-off address through the booking form – choose “Airport group transfer” – or email info@emiratesbushire.com, or message +971 54 126 1681 on WhatsApp. For groups arriving on several flights, send the full flight list: we can schedule several smaller vehicles timed to each landing, or hold one vehicle for a short window if the flights land close together.
We reply with a written quote, usually within the hour. Book at least a week ahead for a single vehicle, and two to four weeks ahead between October and April or for multi-vehicle arrivals. For DXB and DWC arrivals, see airport group transfers.
Every option comes with room for bags – and a coach hold when there are lots of them.

The staff-transport workhorse — thirteen seats, daily or monthly.

Quick answers for this trip.
In the arrivals hall, holding a name board. The group leader receives the driver’s name and contact before landing, and the vehicle waits in the parking area until everyone is through passport control and baggage reclaim.
We track the flight and move the pick-up to the actual landing time, so a delay doesn’t leave the group without a vehicle. Any waiting charges are shown on your quote before you confirm.
Around 25 to 40 minutes to Deira and DXB outside the rush hour, 35 to 50 minutes to Downtown Dubai and about an hour to Dubai Marina. Morning and evening peaks between Sharjah and Dubai can add a lot, so we plan with a buffer.
Some airlines and hotels arrange shared shuttles for their own passengers or guests, so ask them what is available for your flight. For a group that wants to leave together, straight away and with all its luggage, a private van or coach with a driver is the simpler choice.
Group transfers are quoted per vehicle and per journey, according to the vehicle, the destination and the time. For comparison, private sedan transfers between Dubai and Sharjah Airport typically cost AED 120–220 one way. Send your flight details for a written quote, usually within the hour.
Not with us – a group transfer is a paid booking, quoted per vehicle, with flight tracking and a driver waiting in arrivals. Some hotels include an airport pick-up for their guests, so if you are booking rooms, it is worth asking.
Yes. The drive to Abu Dhabi city takes about two hours, with Darb tolls included in the quote. After a flight, a coach or Sprinter with reclining seats is the comfortable choice for a transfer of that length, and the driver can stop on the way.
By road, usually 25 to 40 minutes outside the rush hour. If you are connecting between flights on separate tickets, allow plenty of time for bags, check-in and any entry formalities. We can collect a group at SHJ arrivals and drop it at DXB departures in one booking.
A Coaster-class mini coach seats twenty comfortably but takes only around twenty medium suitcases in its rear area and racks, so with large cases a 35-seater coach with under-floor holds is usually the better choice. Tell us the bag count and we confirm before you book.
Yes. Book the arrival transfer and a full or half day of hire on one quote, and we can keep the same vehicle and driver with the group for the whole stay on multi-day hire.
