Ras Al Khaimah gives a group three quite different days: forts and old villages, the coast and its islands, or the mountain. Most go home having tried to do all three. Here is how to pick one and do it well.

Ras Al Khaimah is the northernmost of the seven emirates, and it packs a lot into a short distance. For a group, the useful question is not what to see. It is what kind of day you want.
| Day | Built around | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Heritage | Forts, the old village, the museum | Schools, history groups, visitors who like stories |
| Coast | Al Marjan Island, beaches, the mangroves | Families, team days, resort guests |
| Mountain | Jebel Jais and the viewing decks | Active groups, adventure days |
The mountain gets its own pages already, and a full day on it is plenty. This guide spends its time on the other two, which people often treat as the supporting act and which make a better day than they expect.

Get a quoteRas Al Khaimah city is around 100 to 120 km from central Dubai, about an hour and a half outside the rush hour, up the E311 or E611. From Sharjah it is shorter. For the full picture of public services, our Dubai to Ras Al Khaimah by bus guide explains the intercity bus and its limits.
The short version for a group: the public bus runs between stations, and the sights are nowhere near a station. A private vehicle goes where the plan goes. If the trip is one-way, such as a resort stay, the Dubai to Ras Al Khaimah transfer page is the right one, because it is about luggage and arrival times, not a day out.
A relaxed day for a group of 15 to 40, leaving the mountain for another time. Venues set their own hours and tickets, so confirm those before you fix the times.
It sounds like a lot. Spread across nine hours with a long lunch in the middle, it is not. If your group is older or travelling with small children, drop Al Jazirat Al Hamra or the beach, not the lunch.
The temptation is to add Jebel Jais as a final stop. Do not. The climb alone takes close to an hour each way from the city, and a group that arrives at the top at four in the afternoon sees the view and the car park, then drives down in the dark. Read our Jebel Jais by bus guide and the Dubai to Jebel Jais page and make it a separate day.
If the group is staying overnight in Ras Al Khaimah, the picture changes. A morning on the mountain and an afternoon on the coast is a comfortable weekend plan, and we can quote the whole stay in one go.
Schools do best with the heritage day, split into two or three short stops with a seat-belt check and a count each time. Our school and university trips page explains how we brief the driver and the trip lead.
Companies and community groups choose the coast: Al Marjan Island for the beach, a long lunch and an easy conversation. Mangrove kayaking and boat trips are run by local operators, so book them directly and send us the slot.
Visiting families usually want a bit of both, and the sample day above is built for them.
Between November and March the weather is kind and the forts are pleasant at midday. In summer, start early, do the fort before ten and spend the afternoon in the shade or the water. Shoes with grip help on the steps at Dhayah, and a hat helps everywhere.
Dress modestly for the museum and the old village, and bring water. If the group includes older people, mention it when you book, so we can plan stops closer to the road.
A Sprinter suits up to 16 and is the comfortable choice for a day with several short drives. For 17 to 30, a 30-seater. A 35-seater or 50-seat coach suits bigger groups, and we check coach parking at the fort and the museum when we quote. If the stop is tight, we say so and suggest a smaller vehicle for that leg.
Our Dubai to Jebel Jais day starts from AED 650 per day for a 15-seater van, with driver and fuel for up to 10 to 12 hours, against a typical market range of AED 700 to 800 for a full day from Dubai to Ras Al Khaimah. A heritage and coast day has no mountain road, so ask for the quote for your own route.
Example: 14 people in one 15-seater. From AED 650 for the vehicle is about AED 46 a head, before extra stops.
Send the date, headcount, pick-up and the stops you want through the booking form. For longer stays and resort pick-ups, read bus rental in Ras Al Khaimah.

Quick answers for this trip.
By intercity bus, by taxi or by hired vehicle. For one or two people the bus is fine. For a group, a private van or coach from your door is simpler and goes to the stops the bus does not.
Public intercity buses run between Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah, with timetables and stations that change. They go between stations, so a group still needs a way to reach the sights.
It is possible from Ras Al Khaimah itself, but a day trip from Dubai gets rushed. We suggest the mountain one day and the forts and coast on another.
The fort is reached by a climb of steps, which some people will find hard. Mention it when you book and we plan the day around what the group can do.
No. Tickets and activities are booked directly with the venues, who set their own prices and hours. We plan the transport around your confirmed times.
Nine to ten hours door to door, with about three hours of driving. We recommend a full-day booking.
Yes. Give us the hotel name and the date and we confirm where the vehicle can stop.
