Vans, minibuses and coaches with drivers for groups in Umm Al Quwain: staff heading south to work, school and leisure trips, weddings and airport runs. We drive up from Dubai for each job.
Your reference
Umm Al Quwain is the quietest of the seven emirates. There is an old town on a sandy peninsula, a lagoon full of mangroves, and a spread of newer housing, industrial areas and a free trade zone along the roads north of Ajman. Bus rental in Umm Al Quwain is mostly about those roads, because most groups here are going somewhere else.
We run vans, minibuses and coaches with drivers for all of it. Our office is on Al Muraqqabat Street in Dubai, so we drive up for each booking and collect from homes, schools, accommodation, hotels and sites anywhere in the emirate, Falaj Al Mualla included. The quote is written for the actual route and includes the driver, fuel and road tolls.
Prices depend on the date and group size. Get yours in a minute.
Get my priceSearch for Umm Al Quwain transport companies and the directories lump everyone together: freight and logistics firms, removals, car rental, school transport and passenger bus operators. Only the last group moves people. So before you compare prices, check that the company actually runs passenger vehicles with drivers, in the size you need.
Then look at where your trips go. Most group trips from Umm Al Quwain cross at least one border, so an operator used to cross-emirate routes, with tolls already in the quote, is usually the better bet. Whoever you pick, get the quote in writing with the extras listed, and check every seat has a belt.
Our page on choosing a transport company in the UAE goes into contracts and licences in more detail.
There are three ways south. The E11 hugs the coast through Ajman into Sharjah. Inland, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311) and Emirates Road (E611) run further from the towns. Emirates Road is the one to know if you work in the south of Dubai: it skirts Sharjah city and carries on to Dubai Investments Park, Jebel Ali and Expo City, which is why routes to those areas often use it instead of the coast.
The usual bottleneck is the Ajman and Sharjah border, southbound in the morning and northbound at night. On a recurring route we set the departure from real traffic and adjust it after the first week.
| From Umm Al Quwain town to | Typical drive time |
|---|---|
| Ajman city | 20 to 30 minutes |
| Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) | 30 to 45 minutes |
| Ras Al Khaimah city | 35 to 45 minutes |
| Sharjah city centre | 35 to 50 minutes |
| Deira and Dubai International (DXB) | About 1 hour |
| Dubai Investments Park and Expo City, via the E611 | 1¼ to 1½ hours |
| Abu Dhabi city | 2 to 2½ hours |
All outside the rush hour.
Housing here generally costs less than further south, so plenty of people who work in Ajman, Sharjah and Dubai live in Umm Al Quwain. Crews are also housed near the industrial areas, Umm Al Thuoob among them, and near the free trade zone by the port. A monthly staff route turns that daily commute into one fixed timetable, with agreed pick-up points, a regular driver where possible and a replacement vehicle if one is in for service.
For a sense of cost, our daily return run between Sharjah and Dubai in a 12 to 15 seat van starts from AED 4,800 per month, against a typical market range of AED 5,000 to 6,500. Starting in Umm Al Quwain adds roughly half an hour each way, and the quote reflects it. If the pick-ups are scattered, two vans often beat one bus. Monthly contracts start at one month and short projects can go week by week; see staff transport and labour transport.
Groups come north for things the big cities don’t have. Dreamland Aqua Park, beside the main road through the emirate, is the obvious one for school groups, summer camps and company family days. The lagoon behind the old town has mangroves you can kayak through. In the old town itself there is the fort, now a museum, and a quiet corniche, and inland Falaj Al Mualla is an oasis town with farms and a fort of its own.
For the water park, book tickets directly with the park and check its opening days and times. Then send us your arrival and departure times. We drop at the entrance and collect at the agreed hour, or the driver waits nearby on half-day (five hours) or full-day (ten hours) hire. Every seat has a seat belt, and a school trip lead gets the driver’s details the day before.
Local groups go the other way too, and Jebel Jais is closer from here than from anywhere in Dubai.
Every vehicle comes with a driver. We don’t do self-drive. All of them are air-conditioned with a belt on every seat. The prices below are starting prices for a full day (up to 10 hours) within Dubai, with driver and fuel; a trip from Umm Al Quwain is quoted for its route.
| Group size | Vehicle | Starting price |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 7 | Mercedes V-Class | From AED 900 per day |
| Up to 13 | Toyota HiAce | From AED 450 per day |
| 14 to 16 | Mercedes Sprinter | From AED 950 per day |
| 17 to 30 | 30-seater mini coach | From AED 550 per day |
| 31 to 35 | 35-seater coach | From AED 600 per day |
| 36 to 50 | 50-seater coach | From AED 650 per day |
One local quirk: the lanes around the fort and in the oldest part of town are too tight for a full-size coach to stop comfortably. For pick-ups there we agree a spot on the main road beforehand. The price guide explains what else moves a quote.
How do you get from Dubai to Umm Al Quwain? By road it is about an hour from central Dubai, usually on the E311, or on Emirates Road if you start in the south of the city. Public intercity buses do link Umm Al Quwain with its neighbours. They run between fixed stations on fixed timetables, though, and routes change, so check the current service before you rely on it.
With a group, one hired vehicle is simpler: door to door, bags included, and Salik tolls on the Dubai side already in the written quote.
Wedding halls and beach hotels here host guests from all over the northern emirates. We run shuttles from guests’ hotels or a meeting point to the venue and back, including a late return for the last guests. The nearest airport is Sharjah International, 30 to 45 minutes away; Sharjah Airport transfers explains how arrivals work.
Send the headcount, the pick-up and drop-off points (a building, gate or landmark), the date and the timings. Use the booking form, email info@emiratesbushire.com or WhatsApp +971 54 126 1681. For a monthly route, add shift times and working days. We usually reply with a written quote within the hour, and nothing is charged until you confirm. See bus rental in Ajman to the south and bus rental in Ras Al Khaimah to the north.
